Paddling on Halong Bay with Huong Hai Junk - Halong Bay Cruise

Halong Bay, in the Gulf of Tonkin, includes some 1, 600 islands and islets, forming a spectacular seascape of limestone pillars. The thousands of limestone peaks create a natural wind barrier to the waters of the South China Sea and a karsts wonderland that was a favorite hiding place for pirates. These calm waters are wonderfully suited for kayaking and the limestone formations are a fantasy land of exploration. Now imagine kayaking it's calm, emerald waters through caves into hidden lakes and white-sand beach coves-your small kayak gliding smoothly beneath the towering limestone peaks.

Highlight: Boating, cave visiting, and kayaking.

Day 1: Hanoi - Halong (L/D)

8: 00 AM: Transfer to Halong city for boat cruise on the Bay, stop on route to admire the landscape picture, you might take picture of a buffalo boy. Embark on Huong Hai Junk, check in registration. Boat crew will greet you with a special seafood lunch while boat cruise around the bay to explore a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. Along the trip, we learn some kayak orientation and instruction in paddling technique. We begin our first kayaking experience to discover the limestone karsts formations which are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. We visit one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. At the end of afternoon we return to our escorted boat for relaxation and dinner. The night paddle is available for the keen kayaker. Have dinner on board with Vietnamese wine and overnight on boat.

Optional: Swimming at night you can have a chance to see phosphorescence.

Day 2: Amazing Halong Bay (B/L/D)

Today you will have a full day paddling on the bay to explore grottos, coves, inland lagoons, white-sand beaches and a floating village or just lazing on the deck.

Lunch and dinner will be served on the boat.

Day 3: Halong - Hanoi (B/L)

Have breakfast with tea and coffee, enjoy the quiet atmosphere morning of the bay. Continue a half – day kayaking to explore Luon Cave toward islets in the shape of Man’s head Island, and Tortoise Island. Lunch will be served before the boat finishes at the harbor for vehicle transfer back to Hanoi.
